Omziff | Encryption Download | PC World
Omziff | Encryption Download | PC World: "To encrypt a single file, it doesn't get much more straightforward than Omziff. Point it at a text file, choose an encryption type, and tell it what to call the resultant encrypted file. Choose a password if you want, then click the Encrypt button.
To decrypt the file, you'll need to reverse the process. Point it at the encrypted file and click the Decrypt button. It's a basic process that could benefit from a small frill or two, such as remembering the original filename and auto-filling that name when you want to decrypt a file (you have to provide a name for the decrypted file). But the utility doesn't even require installation--just double-click the .exe file--and it can easily run from a USB drive.
Omziff can use Blowfish, Cast128, Gost, IDEA, and Misty1 encryption, along with Rijndael and Twofish.
Omziff performs a few other file tasks, such as digitally shredding a file or splitting it into smaller pieces that can later be reassembled. It can also generate passwords or create file hashes, which are typically used to verify that a file hasn't been tampered with."

Lots of Svchost.exe running in Task Manager?
Tip Of The Day. 8-20-09
If you ever open the Task Manager and see 5 or 6 Svchost.exe Don't Become Alarmed!
Svchost.exe is a generic host process name for services run from dynamic link libraries (DLLs). If you want to quickly uncover which services are running under each of the Svchost.exe processes, you can use a command-line utility called TaskList, along with one of its special parameters.
Follow these steps:
1. Open a command prompt.
2. Type tasklist /svc, and press [Enter].
3. If you want a printable list use this command. Type "tasklist /svc >tasklist.txt" (no quotes)
XP Pro only!
