inSSIDer Wi-Fi Scanner | MetaGeek
inSSIDer is an award-winning free Wi-Fi network scanner for Windows Vista and Windows XP. PhotoWham
PhotoWham puts an end to the repetitive tasks required to batch resize, rename, and watermark your digital photos and other image files.
Features:
* Resize by using preset sizes or entering a maximum size for the long edge of the photo
* Rename by prepending or appending text
* Send output images to a specified directory or subdirectory
* Add a watermark to the images - this can be any text, including a copyright symbol
* Adjust JPEG quality for smaller file sizes
* New in version 1.6 - EXIF copying from source to target image! (This feature is only available to registered commercial users).
All of the above operations are optional. You can apply any or all as desired.
Using PhotoWham couldn't be easier. Simply select all of the images you want to process, and drop them on either the application window or the icon and processing will be done. If you prefer to process entire folders of images, click the Folder button to browse for a folder, then choose a folder, and processing will begin.
PhotoWham is suitable for production use - it has been tested with batches of image files numbering in the thousands.

Geek - and name calling
It is a term tossed around by people that have just enough knowledge of technology (particularly computers ) that think themselves justified, or believe they are hip and knowledgeable enough to use the term.
As the butt of this (what I perceive as name-calling), I take offense. If I'm a black, call me or refer to me as black. If I'm black and you are black, you may call me a nigger and I may not give it a second thought, or may stop and correct you and remind you that the word is offensive to me as a black man. If I'm a geek, and you are a geek, you can call me a geek. If you are NOT sure of what I am, or you are not a trusted friend, stifle yourself, please.
UPDATE
A couple of pals bought me a GEEK t-shirt from the Microsoft store, and a coffee cup...both bearing the words GEEK and with definitions.

The plugin is a file tintii.8bf in the location where you installed tintii, usually c:\Program Files\indii.org\tintii. Create a shortcut to this file, or copy it into, the Plug-Ins directory of your Photoshop installation, usually something like C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop *\Plug-Ins. Creating a shortcut is preferable, as it will make updating easier in future.
You will need to restart Photoshop before tintii appears.

mise en place pronunciation: How to pronounce mise en place in French
Microsoft gets more aggressive with free software
Consumers can start buying Office 2010 or using the free Web Apps in June. While it is possible people could choose to use only the free versions, they may end up missing the myriad features Microsoft left out of the lightweight Web tools. NPD Group analyst Stephen Baker also doesn't think consumers will widely give up buying the desktop software in favor of Web programs because people "are not all that confident yet" about the concept of using software that stores their information online.
In addition to the Web Apps, Office 2010 brings a slew of new features and updates to individual programs.
In several programs, people will be able to work on the same document simultaneously, a feature Google's programs already allow.
Office 2010 also brings more powerful photo editing tools to Word and other programs, and adds video and audio editing functions to PowerPoint.

calibre - About
calibre is a free and open source e-book library management application developed by users of e-books for users of e-books. It has a cornucopia of features divided into the following main categories:
- Library Management
calibre manages your e-book collection for you. It is designed around the concept of the logical book, i.e., a single entry in your library that may correspond to actual e-book files in several formats.
calibre can sort the books in your library by:
Title, Author, Date added, Date published, Size, Rating, Series, etc.
In addition, it supports extra searchable metadata:
Tags
: A flexible system for categorizing your collection however you likeComments
: A long form entry that you can use for book description, notes, reviews, etc.
You can easily search your book collection for a particular book. calibre supports searching any and all of the fields mentioned above. You can construct advanced search queries by clicking the helpful "Advanced search" button to the left of the search bar.
You can export arbitrary subsets of your collection to your hard disk arranged in a fully customizable folder structure.
Finally, calibre will even go out onto the internet to find book metadata based on existing title/author or ISBN information. It can download various types of metadata and covers for your books, automatically. The metadata system is written using plugins so that different types of metadata sources can be supported in the future.
- E-book conversion
calibre can convert from a huge number of formats to a huge number of formats. It supports all the major e-book formats. The full list of formats can be found here.
The conversion engine has lots of powerful features. It can rescale all font sizes, ensuring the output e-book is readable no matter what font sizes the input document uses. It can automatically detect/create book structure, like chapters and Table of Contents. It can insert the book metadata into a "Book Jacket" at the start of the book.
- Syncing to e-book reader devices
calibre has a modular device driver design that makes adding support for different e-reader devices easy. At the moment, it has support for a large number of devices, the complete list of which is here. Syncing supports updating metadata on the device from metadata in the library and creation of collections on the device based on the tags defined in the library. If a book has more than one format available, calibre automatically chooses the best format when uploading to the device. If none of the formats is suitable, calibre will automatically convert the e-book to a format suitable for the device before sending it.
- Downloading news from the web and converting it into e-book form
calibre can automatically fetch news from websites or RSS feeds, format the news into a ebook and upload to a connected device. The ebooks include the full versions of the articles, not just the summaries. Examples of supported news sites include:
- The New York Times
- The Wall Street Journal
- The Economist
- Time
- Newsweek
- The Guardian
- ESPN
- and many, many more…
