This includes the WEP, WPA, or WPA2 encryption key or passphrase, so you don't have to manually type it on all your Windows PCs. You'll just have to insert your USB drive to import all the settings.
To export your Wi-Fi settings in Windows XP SP2 or SP3 and Windows Vista, you can use the Wireless Network Setup Wizard. On the Start Menu, click Programs > Accessories > Communications > Wireless Network Setup.
In Windows 7, you can export your Wi-Fi settings via the wireless network profile. Open the Network and Sharing Center, click Manage Wireless Networks, double-click the desired profile, and click Copy this network profile to a USB flash drive
To import the profile into Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, insert the USB flash drive. Then on the AutoPlay menu that pops up, click the Connect to a Wireless Network using Windows Connect Now (see Figure 4) shortcut or the Wireless Network Setup Wizard shortcut.

A new study from American Cancer Society researchers finds it’s not just how much physical activity you get, but how much time you spend sitting that can affect your risk of death.
Researchers say time spent sitting was independently associated with total mortality, regardless of physical activity level. They conclude that public health messages should promote both being physically active and reducing time spent sitting. The study appears early online in the American Journal of Epidemiology.
To explore the association between sitting time and mortality, researchers examined the amount of time spent sitting and physical activity in relation to mortality between 1993 and 2006. They found that more leisure time spent sitting was associated with higher risk of mortality, particularly in women. Women who reported more than six hours per day of sitting were 37 percent more likely to die during the time period studied than those who sat fewer than 3 hours a day. Men who sat more than 6 hours a day were 18 percent more likely to die than those who sat fewer than 3 hours per day. The association remained virtually unchanged after adjusting for physical activity level. Associations were stronger for cardiovascular disease mortality than for cancer mortality.
When combined with a lack of physical activity, the association was even stronger. Women and men who both sat more and were less physically were 94% and 48% more likely, respectively, to die compared with those who reported sitting the least and being most active.
“Several factors could explain the positive association between time spent sitting and higher all-cause death rates,” said Dr. Patel. “Prolonged time spent sitting, independent of physical activity, has been shown to have important metabolic consequences, and may influence things like triglycerides, high density lipoprotein, cholesterol, fasting plasma glucose, resting blood pressure, and leptin, which are biomarkers of obesity and cardiovascular and other chronic diseases.”

I love simple solutions to common problems. Write.fm is one of those services that manages to reduce the number of steps to do a task – in this case, sharing simple text messages and files of any kind – to the absolute minimum.
Coming from Anthony Feint, the same developer who brought us the simple, intuitive web-based task manager Task.fm, Write.fm can perhaps best be described as a cross between an URL-shortener, cloud-based notepad and a simple file sharing service. Originally, the service was just for sharing text; file sharing was added recently.
Open it, and you’re greeted with a text input field and an “add file” icon which lets you choose and upload any file from your disk drive. Once you’re done writing the text and adding files, rename your project in the upper left corner of the screen. That name, preceded by “write.fm/” is now the web address of the file.
Other options that come to mind, such as password protection, are nowhere to be seen, but perhaps it’s too much to ask from a project that aims, first and foremost, to be simple and easy to use.

Checked format on USB drive, set my desktop to boot from the particular type of USB I was using, installed the software, downloaded a new 386 version of Ubuntu, put the .iso on the USB, booted my desktop, chose the Linux distro, and shazam, I was running Ubuntu 10.04 in seconds. Very fast. Now to figure out how to save my email settings when I run Linux from my USB. Other distros (Knoppix ?) let you do this with a live CD and it's easy, but I can't find an easy, uncomplicated way to do it with Ubuntu.
